HOW TO PLAY
Start here.
YOU’LL NEEDOne playground ball and chalk or four markers
▶Watch Four SquarePlayworks ↗- 1Mark four connected squares, number them one through four, and place one player in each; extra players form a line beside square one.
- 2The player in square four serves by bouncing the ball once in their own square, then striking it with an open hand into another square.
- 3Each receiver must strike the ball after no more than one bounce so it lands inside another player’s square. Players may not catch, carry, or hold it.
- 4A player is out for missing, letting the ball bounce twice, hitting a boundary or outside the court, or making an illegal hold. That player joins the line; lower-numbered players rotate up and the next waiting player enters square one.
- 5Play for ten minutes. Finish the rally in progress at the whistle; the player who then occupies square four wins the match.
